Greatest Fly Control Tips of All Time

One of the leading carriers of diseases either at home or in public places is the house fly. Not only do they carry different kinds of diseases but they also contaminate your food at home or in the workplace. The most common diseases caused by house flies are dysentery and food poisoning. Food poisoning results from eating contaminated food and beverages which contain certain bacteria, parasites, viruses, and toxins. Without proper hygiene and sanitation practices at home, house flies can easily contaminate your food and environment without your knowledge. That is why it is extremely important to maintain a clean environment at all times as an effective way to control the presence of house flies in your home or office.
In order to effectively deal with house flies, you have to learn how these insects feed and repopulate. Typically, house flies, also called as filth flies, thrive on dead bodies of animals, garbage, and manure. Once they come into contact with carrion and garbage, they already carry various kinds of bacteria which can contaminate all kinds of surfaces especially the food in your kitchen. Another way filth flies can cause contamination is when they regurgitate dirty liquids from their stomach on certain foods before they start eating. They usually do this in order to liquefy everything before they feed.

Basically, there are two groups of filth flies. Their differences are generally based in their physical appearance and the kinds of food they prefer to eat. The first group is composed of flesh flies, bow flies, and house flies. These insects are small. They have soft bodies and big eyes. They are usually strong fliers. On the other hand, the phorid flies, drain flies, and fruit flies are much smaller and softer compared to the first group.

Sanitation is the only effective solution when it comes to fly control. Once you have already identified their breeding grounds, the first thing you must do is to get rid of it by using certain products known to kill house flies. Most fly infestations occur when there are so many materials such as garbage and rotten vegetables and fruits in your area. To prevent them from breeding on these sites, you need to seal your garbage tightly at all times. As much as possible, do not store trash inside your home. Also remember that moist places can also be a breeding ground for these insects. So you will need to keep your place clean and dry at all times if possible. If you think that you will need to resort to chemicals to eliminate flies in your home, always remember that it is not always the best method to use. Chemicals should only be used as a secondary option or just an adjunct when you want an effective fly control measure. Proper sanitation is still the best way to keep your home free from filthy flies.
